Seeaytch? …what does it mean?
Seeaytch [si:eit∫] proper noun of the abbr. (CH)
A Swiss idea that wanted to discover the world
The quest for identity
Seeaytch is an idea born from a play on words, while I was looking for a name for my new freelance graphic design business.
Its name was intended to indicate its affiliation: Switzerland, its mission: to make the ordinary extraordinary and the common uncommon, and its openness to the world: by giving it an English-speaking sound.
A rough of an idea
After thinking carefully about what could illustrate my personality and my work as a freelance graphic designer, I settled on two well-known letters. They alone perfectly summed up the Swiss Made side: CH.
It is the abbreviation of Confoederatio Helvetica which we often find stuck to the back of our vehicles.
Birth of a brand
After several graphic and phonic gesticulations I simply decided to break down the two letters CH (Cé Ache) into two syllables pronounced in English:
C=See H=Aytch
All that remained was to put the letters together and give my new name its original spelling: Seeaytch Advertising Network.
